A new clinic building for an established practice in Alexandria, Minnesota. We designed this building to reflect the doctors’ character alongside the farming and rural culture by using a playful reflection of the painting “American Gothic” by famed artist Grant Wood. The scale and proportion of this building plays with the tall height and makes the building look like a tiny farmhouse, like the painting, however the building roof eaves are at almost sixteen feet high and the windows are about six feet high. The height of the building creates more visual interest on this particular site, almost rising from the trees and prairie.
